"mother why does he hate me?" in the book April Morning by Howard fast Adam isn't treated the best by his father and wishes that that would change and towards the end of the book it does. Adam is a 15 year old boy and just wants to be treated like a man by his father. He wants to go to a committee meeting with his father and the rest of the village men, but his father doesn’t think he is enough of a man. Until a man riding on his horse comes to town that’s when it all changes.
The man riding the horse told all the towns men that an army of maybe 2,000 men are heading towards their towns. So the militia and all the men that want to fight for their colonies go to their town hall to sign a book so they know that their fighting for their freedom. Adam heads towards the town hall and gets inside as he sees his father. He kept on thinking to himself "don’t embarrass me in front of all these people. Don’t make me feel like a child now." he gets up to the book where his father and 2 other men are sitting and his father lets him sign the book. Adam finally feels loved by his father and the conflict is resolved.
