Have you ever thought what it would be like to get a visit from about 2,000 british soldiers trying to take your land? Or getting jumped in the middle of the night by people with knifes? Well the people in these books don’t have to think about it because it really happens to them. The Outsiders and April Morning have several things in common.
The biggest similarity in these books are mostly just the fight for the territory and freedom the patriots Adam's dad and the greasers Dallas. The greasers fight so the soc's wont go in there side of the city and stop jumping the greasers and the greasers cant go on there side. The Patriots fight so that the British don’t take there land. The patriots were thinking you sent us over here in the first place we like it here we settled it so you can make us give you taxes.
Another similarity is that characters need to grow up too early. In the book April Morning by Howard fast Adam isn't treated the best by his father and wishes that that would change and towards the end of the book it does. Adam is a 15 year old boy and just wants to be treated like a man by his father. He wants to go to a committee meeting with his father and the rest of the village men, but his father doesn’t think he is enough of a man. Until a man riding on his horse comes to town that’s when it all changes. The man riding the horse told all the towns men that an army of maybe 2,000 men are heading towards their towns. So the militia and all the men that want to fight for their colonies go to their town hall to sign a book so they know that their fighting for their freedom.
Dally is another character who grew up too fast. He thinks about himself and thinks that since he has no family that he can go around being a delinquent. Without a family to support him, he can do whatever he wants and get away with it. He went to jail already. Then he loses a good friend. After he loses his friend he realizes that he needs friends and goes crazy. The cops shoot him and he dies in the end of the book. When Dally loses his good friend he realizes he needs someone to support him and be there for him. When Adam in April morning loses his dad he knows he never really wanted that to happen he loved his father but didn't realize it until he was gone.
Both stories emphasize the line from the Robert Frost poem, "Nothing Gold Can Stay." which means nothing you really love and care about ever stays the way you want it to. Dally loses his friend and Adam loses his family, and they both lose their childhood.

point of view
"I'm tall enough and I'm 15 3 months from 16 let me go to the committee meeting." "Talk to me when you can Adam." " why does he hate me mother?" In the book April morning by Howard Fast. Adam just wants to become a man. But his mother and father don’t think he is ready, just like all parents in the world. Adam thinks its just him that gets treated poorly by his father wishing that his father Moses "wouldn’t look at him like mud scraped out of the floor of the barn."
after a man comes riding into the town he and his father run outside to see what all of the commotion is about that early in the morning. This man tells the townsman that the British soldiers are coming to take the land, the Towns people obviously don't want this to happen so they get a militia ready to fight back. This book would be completely different if Adams father had told it.
If his dad had told this story it would be different. I think his father would just be trying to make sure his son doesn't do anything bad in his future. He probably just wants to make sure his son is disciplined enough for what is to come. Once he has a family that he has to take care of, Adam would probably thank him for what he had said and done in the past. After the rider had come and told him the British have a few thousand men coming for their land, I think he had known Adam would come to sign the book for the militia. he just didn't want him to grow up to fast but no parent would want that.
After Adam leaves to go Fight the British I think his dad is proud of his son for making that decision. At the same time he probably misses his son because he won't be able to take care of their family all by himself until his little brother is old enough to help. or until Adam comes back but that's a different story.

Adam heads towards the town hall and gets inside as he sees his father. He kept on thinking to himself "don’t embarrass me in front of all these people. Don’t make me feel like a child now." he gets up to the book where his father and 2 other men are sitting and his father lets him sign the book. Adam finally feels loved by his father and the conflict is resolved.

stereo types
When I see people wearing plaid shirts or glasses I think of them as kind of nerds and when people look at me they probably think he is just a jerky jock or a stupid skater but I'm not, if people really get to know me I'm actually one of the happiest people you will ever know this is called a stereotype. I am currently reading a book about stereotypes called The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton.
In this book there are two different kinds of stereotypes there are the soc's they are supposed to be the good rich people and then there are the greasers they are supposed to be the poor bad dirty people. These two stereotypes are rivals through out this book. And these stereotypes are nothing like what they think they are I mean the greasers are all good people and don’t hurt anyone unless they have to, and pony boy the main character and a greaser in this book is actually a really smart person. Yet the people still judge him because of what he wears and how he has his hair styled. And the socs are really the bad people because they jump the greasers and hurt them because they think that there the bigger people because there parents care for them and have enough money to buy them pretty much whatever they want. If everyone got to know each other there would be no outsider because everyone is different and in there own mind that’s a good thing. I mean I would hate it if every one was the same and everyone did the same exact thing every day. So I think that stereo types are just a reason for someone to be better than the other and that’s just wrong.
Stereo types arent good and I don’t think that you should judge people by the way they dress walk or speak because you don’t know them until you talk to them but no one really does that. We just see someone and automatically judge them. And this book The Outsider is all about stereo types and many other things witch is why it’s a really good book.

creative story piece thingy
He dressed in all black getting ready for the mission he put a katana on his back and some ninja starts in his side pocket. He walked outside in stealth mode trying not to be seen. He quickly crossed to the other side of the street, hoping they would not notice him. He took out his poisonous blow dart and took all three of them out. He then moved on to the bridge to get to the house were his target should be sleeping. The stealthy ninja saw some patrol people walking around the house. He gently threw 2 ninja stars but somehow took out four people. He ran up the side of the house pulled out his katana and smashed through the window. He silently walked up to his victim and stabbed him right in the kisser. Game Over Billy turned off the television and walked into his room feeling accomplished and then went to sleep. Laying in bed he couldn’t stop thinking about his game so he got up and ran down stairs and thought to himself its time for another round.
tell tale heart
What would you do if you lived with a man that had a eye which you thought was evil. Would you go as far as the narrator did in the short story Tell Tale Heart. I know I wouldn't kill a man because of an eye I would just ignore it. Killing someone for that reason in is insanity.
There are several other ways he could have resolved the conflict without murder. he could have just destroyed the eye instead of the old man. He said he had loved the old man he lived with him but because of his eye he suffocated him chopped him into pieces and set his body under the floor board. He then lied to the police and said that the old man had been out of town at the moment so he wasn’t in the house at the time. The police had to investigate the house though so they walked in and went up to the old mans room and had a seat. The narrator brought the police refreshments and told them to make themselves at home. The narrator was practically grinning knowing he had gotten away with murder until he started hearing a ticking noise. He explained it as if it was the old mans heart the ticking was making the narrator insane so he confessed to his murder and went insane. That is when the story had ended.
Though I do not know who the narrator is I still think he is mad because he went insane because of a ticking noise and a eye that he thought was evil, how could an eye possibly be evil I mean I know how the man could have been evil. the narrator took about3 hours just to peek his head through the old mans door in the middle of the night before he killed him. So I think that the narrator is insane.

Summer
Summer is a magical time where theres butterflies and evil goblins that eat your face off. Summer is kind of like the bridge to tarabithia but you're already there. Tarabithia is a horrible place you get eaten by evil rat dogs named "jake" but you can get saved by the heroic dog pluto or clifford because they will destroy the evil rat dog race and they shall forever parish muahahahahahahahahaha. Summer is a time of I-M-A-G-I-N-A-T-O-N (a rainbow magically apears above my head like in spongebob).
Anything can happen during summer you can swim the beach and somehow get splinter or something like that because if you think about anything i might or might not happen...Although the best thing to do during the summer is to hang out with friends because your not as bored playing x-box or on your computer or something by yourself you should just go play x-box or stuff like that with your friends it gives brain a workout.
So the best way to stay alive during the magical time of "summer" is to be in a small group because the summerbithian creatures go for the chunkier ones first. then they go for the people that are just on their own and then finally they go for the A.D.D ones because they'll be running away and then stop and say oo a butterfly (i know from experience its the reason i have so many scars) durring summer you must be aware because everything is a summerbithian creature such as Brick wall... again i know from experience or trampolines... Know from experience all the things im about to say i know from experience car's sled's (dont ask) decks, stoves, grills, tables, windows, and trees.
Use these tips in the amazingly horrible time of summer or you shall parish and never be seen by anyone ever ever again. and will be in a evil creatures tummy forevers. this is Jerry's hot summer tips to keep you alive over summer thanks for watching people goodbye for toda.

writing circle
If I had one wish it would be to have my old life back because then my family wouldnt be ripped apart and my sister and i wouldn't fight as much and I would still be able to hang out with my dad. And I would be out of my room alot more because there would actually be things to do.
Francis the heroic teddy bear
Twas the night before it happened twas a horrible night i couldn't sleep with all the commotion outside. It was raining and hailing all of it pounding on the window i was just laying silently on my bed staring at the plain white ceiling right next to my owner Jerry. 10 hours later.... It was Monday afternoon Jerry was at school and his mom was at work. Alien's decided to rip off the roof the house so I got my airplane this one had a propeller and 10 folds I tried to fly from the evilness of there giant green tentacles. It was like a high speed air chase with 2 bad guys chasing after the cop. They finally caught up to me and I was caccunned within there tentacles. I couldnt see the daylight or anything in fact so I too out my secret weapon... My G.I. joe companion Frank. He brought out his G.I. Joe gun and tried pooking his way out he poked through and it was just big enough that we could fit through the tiny creese. I got of the alien and Frank got on top of the other one
I shouted surrendor or I will poke your eye. They surrendered and made there apologies we then later went out to coffee and talked a little bit it so happenes that the aliens Bob and Fred were old friends of jerry and then Bob, Fred, Frank, and I all went our seperate ways Bob became a very rich busines man and disguised him self as a man he became the star of bob the builder show. Fred also disguised him self as a man and became one of the best actors in the show everybody loves Raymond he played Raymonds father named Frank. Frank and I stayed to protect Jerry incase of futer attacks by flying seals or aliens or maybe even arnold scwarzenegger.

essay
I am reading the book called witch and wizard by James Patterson. James Patterson is the most read thrill writer in the world. I like this book because there is a lot of action and you don’t know what's going to happen next, so you cant put the book down and James's books are the only books that I will actually fully read because I love his books so much and all of the other author's books bore me.
In witch and wizard it is mostly about a witch and a wizard obviously, So they get kidnapped in the middle of the night because the government says they are a witch and a wizard but to them there just regular kids named Whit and Wisty. They go to a little jail and then wisty (the witch) catches on fire for no reason and that’s how she figured out she was a witch.
Towards the end of the book they get out of a really bad jail they have to run through a line of vicious unfed dogs so that the dogs will bite them when they have to run and get there food but all the dogs are hypnotized but they somehow manage to un hypnotize one of the dogs and they set her free to get away from that jail and in order to get away from that jail they have to cross through the shadow land or the under world where the dead people roam and some ghost try to kill them. But they find a way out.
i really like this book because it had a lot of things going on in the book and you don't want to leave because you feel like you might miss something even though its a book. and now i am reading the second book in the series called the gift and that's really good too.

Pendragon
Imagine what it would be like to discover you aren’t the person you thought you were. Bobby Pendragon was living the life of a normal 14 year old guy, until his Uncle Press appeared with a mission: protect all of time and space from a demon named Saint Dane, a cold-blooded villain who wants nothing less than the dismantling of humanity. The only force standing in Saint Dane’s way is a mysterious group of people called Travelers, and Bobby is surprised to discover that he is one of them.
The amazing truth behind this battle for time and space gradually unravels for Bobby over the course of the Pendragon books. Along the way, he encounters the kind of nail-biting, hairy adventures that he used to love to watch in the movies, but finds that in his new life, they could not be more real. Bobby Pendragon is a seemingly normal fourteen-year-old boy. He has a family, a home, and even Marley, his loved dog. But there is something very special about Bobby. He is going to save the world.
And not just Earth as we know it. Bobby is slowly starting to realize that life in the cosmos isn’t quite what he thought it was. And before he can object, he is swept off to an alternate dimension known as Denduron, a territory inhabited by strange beings, ruled by a magical tyrant, and plagued by dangerous revolution. If Bobby wants to see his family again, he’s going to have to accept his role as savior
I loved this book and i only like a small amount of books and this is one of them that I liked I couldn’t put it down there are 10 books in this whole series and I want to read them all.

How would you feel to live in a small town that has a legend of a headless man that rides a horse and comes out at night and haunts your town. The legend of the sleepy hollow by Washington Irving is an old book that has been continued on by many people. there has been many movies about it and many other books, but out of all the books I think the original is the best. Because it has so much more detail than all of the others.
This book takes place in Connecticut in a small town called Sleepy Hollow and it was cursed by a man of witch craft they call him the headless horseman or the galloping hessian of the hollow. Many people in sleepy hollow study witch craft the other villagers just don’t know it and that is how the headless horseman is able to haunt the village.
Washington Irving was one of the greatest and first successful authors which is why I think it is such a great story. It is a very old classic with action, romance, chaos and more and this is the first time I read the book ive seen all of the movies but I have never read the book until now and I think that the book is best because it has thee most detail.
This is a very good story it is kind of complicated to understand at some parts but you catch on. I would read this story again and again. For its literature I think it is irony. Because the school teacher loses his sanity when he moves from Connecticut to sleepy hollow and sees the headless horseman.

How would you feel if you were told you were adopted but when you get older you get mysterious letters from a random person and they say your are one of the missing ones and beware there coming back to get you? In the book found by Margaret Haddix Jenna sees a plane in its place and then she blinks and it just vanishes and then she sees a plane that’s not supposed to be there so she goes inside and no one is there she looks at all of the seats and she sees all little babies. And she takes one of them in as her own child.
This book is about mysteries and it starts off with the mother Angela seeing a plane and then it vanishes and the next time a plane is where it shouldn’t be so she goes in and there are only babies on the plane. She takes one in and the people next door takes on in they become best friends so chip one of the babies on the plane and Jonah one of the other ones. they are 13 and they start getting mysterious letters saying you are one of the missing and another one saying Beware there coming ba to get you.
Then chip Jonah and his sister Katherine see the plane that chip and Jonah came from and go on a mysterious adventure personally I didn’t really like this book because it didn’t get straight to the point it took a while but It was ok because in the middle of the book it took a huge curve and I didn’t know what was going to happen next and all three go on an adventure to find out who sent the letters and what they meant by there coming back to get you.

I hope the packers win the super bowl 45 because they are my favorite team and they haven't been to the super bowl in a while I think that what's been slowing them down the past few years was Brett
Favre because sense he left we've been doing really good and now the Vikings are doing bad so I think its Brett's fault.

Deep Water
How would you feel if you drowned as a little child and couldn’t breathe and could never swim again without remembering what had happened and living with that fear? In the short story Deep Water by William O. Douglas he begins with a fear and learns to conquer it by swimming across a lake and back so many times he gets over his fear and loves swimming the rest of his life.
William drowns as a kid and then has a fear from then on and cannot swim because he is afraid that It will happen again. When he is 11 or 12 he goes to the Y.M.C.A and swims on the shallow end until other guys come and throw him in the deep end. He drowns there and cannot get out he screams but no one hears him. He blacks out and a life guard saves him and puts him on the side of the pool so that he can get all of the water out of his lungs. after this happens William does not stop trying to get rid of this fear so he keeps trying to swim and never gives up.
Next he gets an instructor to help him and swim with him, so that he can try to get over his fear of water. Every time he went across the pool he lost a little bit of the fear but if his instructor loosened his grip on the rope he was holding William would get some of the fear back. Piece by piece his instructor helped him get over his fear but it wasn’t gone yet his instructor finished with him but his fear was still with him.
At the end of the story he swims across a lake multiple times to try and get rid of it the fear comes but he just ignores the fear and keeps swimming. I personally think this is a good story because it gets straight to the point apposing to stories that just take a really long time to get to the moral of the story and are hard to understand and follow. I think that this is kind of alike to the pearl because William and Kino keep their pride no matter what happens.

The Pearl
The Pearl starts off with a poor family that runs into a problem. The problem is that their son Coyotito got stung by a scorpion and they need money so that the doctor will treat him. Kino, the father, went out to find a pearl so that they would have enough money to get Coyotito to the doctor. The pivoting point in the story is when Kino finds the pearl of all pearls, the pearl he finds is huge. The whole town finds out about Kino's findings, he starts to since an evil feeling coming from people and the pearl. When it comes to selling the pearl Kino can't sell it in his town because all the pearl buyers are working for the same person so they try to cheat Kino, but he doesn't sell the pearl. He then tries to go to the city to sell the pearl but before he can go he is attacked by someone trying to steal the pearl from Kino, Kino had to defend his self by stabbing and killing the attacker.
So he has to flee the town because there are trackers coming after him, his wife, Juana insists on going with him so they flee up to a mountain to get away from the trackers. There were three trackers, two on foot, one on horse with a rifle. Kino decided to attack them while they were sleeping, so when he attacked them Kino first tried to get the man on horse, in the struggle Kino killed the trackers but his son was killed by a bullet. Kino then threw the pearl away.
Kino is a determined man, and he does what he thinks is right, like on selling the pearl to the towns pearl buyers. He has a small mustache and short black hair. Juana, kino's wife has long black hair and smart. A conflict in the story is when Kino had a choice between selling the pearl to the pearl dealers in his town or to sell it someplace else. Although the towns people thought Kino should have sold the pearl to the dealer for the little amount he offered Kino, but Kino did what he thought was right and did not sell the pearl.
I thought the pearl was a good story. There were some parts in the story that I got bored of reading because it wasn't keeping my interest. Most of the book was good, I thought that it showed how people in real life act when they have the chance to get some money. Like how the doctor wouldn't treat Coyotito until he found out that Kino had found the pearl, and even then he had
tricked Kino.

I don’t really like how this book ended because he didn’t want to sell it because it didn’t give him the money he thought the pearl was worth but in the end he threw it in the ocean instead of selling the pearl and getting money just not as much as he would want. And I dont like how koyotito got shot and died because after all kino has been through not really paying attention to koyotito he fianlly pays attention to him but hes dead.

Juana thinks it will destroy there relationship because he is starting not to trust anyone and he keeps it safe in his hands. kino might get obsessed with the pearl and then go insane. Like he might turn out to be like the guy in lord of the rings that says my precious a lot. If kino gets so obsessed with the pearl that he doesn’t trust anyone including jauna and koyotito then I think that he will be left.
